Inflexxion® was founded by Dr. Simon Budman, an internationally known pioneer in the field of behavioral health. Dr. Budman understands the critical importance of research, and this understanding remains at the core of our corporate strategy.
Inflexxion’s early growth was due in large part to the support of the National Institutes of Health as well as key research partners in the pharmaceutical industry. Over the last several years, commercial contracts have come to represent a greater share of the company revenue. Today, pharmaceutical risk management represents the fastest growing area of the company, while we maintain a strong presence in student health, substance abuse and consumer health.
The following are some of the key milestones we have achieved over the past 20+ years.
1984
|
- Dr. Budman writes and publishes Theory & Practice of Brief Therapy. The book becomes a best-seller within the field and is used widely across clinical practices and graduate schools. Dr. Budman is called on to conduct training workshops and provide consulting services.

|
- Dr. Budman founds Innovative Training Systems as a behavioral healthcare consulting company. He spends the next three years traveling to hospitals and treatment centers.
