    Interactive Designer – User Experience

    Interactive Designer

     

    Description

    The Interaction Designer works closely with the Principal Visual Designer and Creative Director to help establish the UI on projects and projects. S/he has the ability to follow that direction throughout the projects in order to meet business and user goals. This is a hands-on position that involves all phases of the design process, including concept development, look and feel, and front-end development. The Interactive Designer will work as part of the creative/UX team.

    Duties

    • Solid typography, composition, and color skills
    • Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
    • Ability to hand-code HTML/CSS/JS, as well as experience with source control systems. Experience with libraries such as JQuery, JQuery UI and SASS/Compass will be very helpful, as will proficiency in a code editor
    • An understanding of User Research issues and Information Architecture
    • Familiarity with current design best practices
    • Experience with video editing, production and post-production a big plus (Premiere/After Effects in particular); extra points for HTML5 video delivery experience
    • Experience with ActionScript a plus
    • Some print design experience including setting up files for press/prepress is a nice to have
    • Other duties may be assigned

     

    Qualifications

    • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
    • 2+ years experience as an interactive designer. Agency experience a plus.

    Research Assistant – Internet Monitoring

     

    Description

    Inflexxion is seeking a Research Assistant to support innovative public health surveillance for misuse and abuse of prescription medications and other potentially addictive substances related to surveillance activities for the National Addictions Vigilance Intervention and Prevention Program (NAVIPPRO). This individual will assist with developing and implementing novel methods for monitoring Internet data, including social media websites for ongoing research projects related to public health, and behavioral sciences for multidisciplinary staff of epidemiologists, biostatisticians and research psychologists within Inflexxion’s Health Analytics Department. This position will report to the NAVIPPRO Reporting Team Manager.

     

    Required Skills

    • Proficient with MS Office Suite applications; MS Word and MS Excel required, MS Access desired.
    • Experience with statistical software (SPSS) or SQL coding a plus.
    • Team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary teams and willingness to work in a matrix cross-functional environment.
    • Intellectually curious, fast learner, can work independently and willing to seek and receive guidance as needed from team members, other scientists and direct manager.

     

    Duties

    • Review data and communications obtained from the Internet.
    • Conduct topic and content analysis coding of Internet data for analysis.
    • Perform data management for Internet surveillance under the supervision of an epidemiologist including the maintenance of coding databases.
    • Monitor Inflexxion’s data collection tool daily.
    • Draft SQL queries under the supervision of an epidemiologist.
    • Create tables, charts, and graphs of results of Internet data for reports.
    • Perform quality control practices for NAVIPPRO Surveillance reporting.
    • Write draft results sections of Internet data for surveillance reports.
    • Provide regular updates to team members on new discussions and trends observed within the monitored Internet communities.
    • Assist with basic research tasks for ongoing surveillance projects as well as for selected projects as assigned.
    • Provide general support to help coordinate the efforts of the NAVIPPRO project team.
    • This position may transition to gradually increased responsibility.

     

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS degree in biological, social sciences or related field with excellent academic record.
    • Demonstrated experience and interest in quantitative or qualitative research.
    • Experience or knowledge related to basic research methods and data collection.
    • Knowledge/experience with the Internet communities and social networking communities.
    • Proficient writing and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Interest in research on the subject of drug abuse and public health.
